Official Recruitment Materials

In order to formally initiate the Recruiting Process, please submit the following items to the coaching staff by October 1, 2024.

Note: These should only be submitted by those of age to be student-athletes for the upcoming season. These will be high school seniors in the class of 2025 and college transfers.

  • Completed Recruitment Form

  • Letter of Recommendation 

    • While we are very interested in your skill set, we also want to know about you as a person! This letter of recommendation should come from an adult in your life (teacher, coach, counselor, boss etc.) who can speak to your character, work ethic, and personality. 

  • Skill Video

    • The Skill Video does not need to be professionally edited, but should be PUBLIC or UNLISTED on YouTube for easy viewing by the coaching staff. Please see below for Video Guidelines: 

      • A short introduction stating your name, hometown, dance background, and why you want to be on the  University of Minnesota Dance Team. 30 second minimum.

      • Skill Showcase – all skills listed must be filmed and submitted as one continuous take; dancers may perform each skill twice if needed. 

      • Jazz/Lyrical Solo - can be self-choreographed, a portion of a past routine, or  footage from a recent competition. One minute minimum.

      • Pom Solo - can be self-choreographed, a portion of a past routine, or content from a UMDT clinic. 30 second minimum.
